- From Steven E. Brummel:
I did visit Neu Wallisdorf with the Michael Brummel family in 1986. We used the Erna Bachtrog photo to locate the town and the house. We believe we found the house. I believe Erna Bachtrog's mother was born there and my grandfather. I think I remember hearing Erna say she had been born there as well. I know she spent her earliest years in the Pilsen region before moving to the Big City, Prague. I don't know where earlier generations were born.
I also visited in 1977 the old Jewish cemetery in Kozlany. It was hidden from the road and completely overgrown. The gravestones were tossed about and the undergrowth made it difficult to pick up and read the tombstones. It looked as though roadworks then were about to bulldoze the cemetery. I walked from grave to grave, pulling up the fallen ones to read. I found one for a young Robert Brummel who died in 1894 . He might have been 10 or 12. I need to locate my notes and see where all these places are located. I also have photos stored at my mother's house of that 1977 journey.
