    • letter offered on ebay, This stampless letter has a circular date stamp for PERRYMANSVILLE Md., a matching numeral 5 cent rate, and is addressed to John Jay, Esq., Halls X Roads, Harford county, Md., and is a one half a page letter written by W.A. Patterson. The headline is Pryman's [?] Depot, April 17th, 1851.
      The letter reads:
      "The legal title of "Horne's [?] Point", will not effectually pass to your sisters by a Deed from Prestman as Trustee until the sale has been ratified by the Court of Chancery, this will be done shortly. I have prepared the Deed but will not have it executed until the order of ratification is passed."
      Condition of the letter rates average, wear along the folds, whitish stains, tear opposite the seal area. As usual with stampless letters, after writing on one or more sides of a sheet of paper, the letter was folded several times and mailed. An interesting letter good for genealogy and history research.       The land patent for "Lighthouse Island" with John Donahoe is probably for Poole's Island, site of the Poole's Island Lighthouse, now on the National Register of Historic Places. The lighthouse was built by John Donahoo in 1825, and remained in service until 1939. It is now on Aberdeen Proving Grounds.
